Anyone have any tricks on how they save money on magazine subscriptions? Years ago I cancelled what I did get. I check them out from the library now.

I get a ton (over 20)...I have a serious magazine addiction! LOL!

I have been getting a lot on ebay to tell you the truth. You have to go into the transaction knowing that, yes, it's ebay...so if you get an unscrupulous ebay person, they could take your money and "run" so to speak, because it takes several weeks for new subs to start or renewals to take affect. *knock on wood* I haven't had any problems. I'm careful about who I buy from, check their feedback etc

I do occasionally use places like bestdealmagazine, netmagazines etc - aside from it often taking a REALLY long time for renewals to go through, they've been fine.

I also keep my eyes peeled with the actual magazines website, because sometimes they run specials.

I am with Oregano...magazines are my vice...I love them more than chocolate...okay I love them as much as chocolate I get most of my subscriptions through Best deal magazines (through the link in on line bargains so MS gets credit and I use the coupon code) I also use another site that has tons of subscriptions for 5.95 (discountmagazines.com). And I get Redbook for myself and my mom with my coke rewards.
The only magazineI pay a higher price for is First for Women b/c I can never find it at a more discounted rate than $17, and it is by far my fav magazine. Oh and my aunt and MIL couldn't decide what to get me for Christmas last year, and they both settled on magazine subscriptions (1 to Southern Living and the other to Taste of Home).

So I'd say first try those sites and then if that fails and someone asks you what you want for the Holidays next year or your birthday, ask for a magazine subscription

I try and buy the mainstream subcriptions on eBay, never have had an issue with it not starting up.

Unfortunately, most of the stuff we are truely interested in are not mainstream, so we have but one choice to order from the manufacturer.

I used to subscribe to many magazines but haven't in years. There are a few I saw at WalMart the other day and I may look into subscribing again. Will have to look on ebay. I hadn't thought of that.
Alot of the magazines I buy are cardmaking/scrapbooking magazines that I buy several at a time on Ebay and I don't mind that they aren't current so I get them cheap.
If I happen to go to the library I will certainly flip through the magazines there. Good way to be able to read them and not spend money. I usually do that with news/political magazines that I like but can't do that with my crafty magazines since I like to keep those to get ideas.
