Do you or your significant other do your own work on your cars like oil changes, etc? How do you save money on car upkeep?

--When the weather is nicer dh can change oil.
--Otherwise we use a place that has coupons and offers a discount to us because dh is a paramedic.

DH does everything to our vehicles that he can - changes oil, rotates tires, whatever else he can do as he does it and I have no idea about cars so don't really know what he does!

dh does everything to our cars as well he was a mechanic for 14 years before working at his current job.. also fil has an radiator repair shop so they have all the equipment we need since he also repiars air and heaters on cars we also get a great deal on parts. so we do it all ourselves heating cooling just put on a waterpump breaks tires exhaust everything saves us tons of money.

Same here, dh restores classic cars and does all the upkeep on them and our everyday cars.

Even with my newer car, if it is a recall on it, I go to the dealership get the part and he puts it on.
