or pantries? I hate it when I let food expire and have to throw it away. How often do you go through what you have in your pantry or other items in your stockpile?
Have you ever had a moment when you think "how in the world did I end up with a dozen tubes of tooth paste" when you go through the stockpile.

I rarely have any food item in the house for more than 2 months. We eat it all.

I go thru mine at least once a month. I always stock the newer items in the back of the older ones so that we eat them in order. that way nothing gets pushed to the back and ends up expiring on me. But I am with Happymom, we go thru all our food pretty good, so it never has a chance to expire.

I do go through my main areas all the time. But being the disorganized woman that I am ... I have extra areas. I tossed two cake mixes last week. I even thought about making them but read on here that someone's mix of some sort had worms and I'd just die if I opened a box and it had worms.

I try to go through my pantry every 2-3 months. My kids empty it so fast rarely do things go bad except for occasional cake mixes or some kind of soup that no one likes anyway. I'm not a naturally orderly but I'm trying. I hate to waste too! Linda

I go through my grocery stockpiles about once a month and make sure nothing is about to expire. When I do my shopping I try to rotate things with the closest expiration date to the front so I will use them first. If something is getting close to expiring I work it into the menu.

Everything else I keep a pretty good list of what I have...paper goods, toiletries, gifts, etc. So I can just reference my list and not have to worry about it as often. Once every few months maybe.

The only time things have gotten lost around here is in the freezer. I am trying to clean it out and then I am going to make a list of what is in there.
