How did everyone do? Did you keep track of how much you spent on what for the whole month? Are you going to continue to keep a record? Anyone surprised by anything....sometime those trips to Starbucks can add up.

I have kept track of everything and am very suprised with some areas. We spent approx. $700 in groceries and household items for the month of January - that is for me, DH, and a 17 month old DS - and we didn't eat out once! DH and I were discussing it last night and looking for ways we can cut back.

We ran a preliminary total last week when we did the Net Worth step. VERY interesting. I personally am really proud that dh joined in and embraced things with me - we did a great job writing down how much we spent. And knowing I had to write something down if I did buy it curbed my spending. I am ashamed to think of how cash would run through my hands like water prior to this.

We're going to continue to write expenses down and track them.

I didn't keep track of anything but i will next month. I know i have dramatically cut down our grocery bill and the eating out. In the last 4 weeks i think we only ate out 1or2x. And it was only $5-$15 total each time. So i want to keep track of how much we spend on our bills next month and groceries and see how well we can do. I bet we saved $200 in the past month.
