I'm in too. I kind of do this but I want to get in a better habit. Right now I just save what I have when I clean out my wallet which isn't all that often. I end up using what is my car and my wallet when I'm out. I want to stop doing that. I think I'll add the recycling money to the change cup as well. It will be interesting to see how much I end up with at the end of the month.

We don't use cash that often, so our change doesn't add up to a huge amount. But I collect it in an old canning jar and label it the "garage sale fund". That way I have at least a little bit saved for garage sale finds that aren't budgeted for since our budget is tight enough that even garage sales purchases can derail our finances.

I already have done this for quite a few years. But this year is different, we are saving it to do something special on our vacation this summer. It adds up quite quickly!

I'm on board. I already save my change. If my total bill is $5.02 I will give the cashier $6.00, so I will always have change to save.

I never thought about rounding up on my checkbook. I will do that too.

We put our change into various jars. One that the kids decorated is for their "Vacation Fund" and that gets counted and divided a week before our annual vacation. This way we don't have to budget their spending money, and they tend to be more cautious with spending it because it is "theirs" not ours. The second one is our "would like to have..., but don't want to take it from the monthly expenses" jar. The rule is, you have to go home, roll it/ cash it in at the bank, then go buy whatever the item is. Truth be told, after all that, you really didn't want the item, and it was an impulse purchase that you can live without! After a few months, that money gets put into our savings account. At the end of the year its about $200.00. Change adds up quickly, so it doesn't take long to see results.

I've been lurking but following some of the ideas here very closely. For the coin challenge I ended up with $29.50 in rolled change with an additional $2.25 in loose change. I had forgotten how much change hubby tends to collect especially when he first gets his paycheck. I already do meal planning so the next month should be fairly easy for me. I'm going to continue with the coin rolling and see if we can get a nice chunk of change compiled(At the rate we're going that would be over $300).
