We have "done" Financial Peace for about 8 years and are frequent coordinators Yes, it works, but takes time. I think his books are very similar and would start with "Financial Peace" or "Total Money Makeover." If you can swing it at all, I would get the system and join the class. The class forces you to be accountable and helps you understand. If you do the class, I think the kit still comes with the "Financial Peace" book, so don't buy anything else. You can sit in on a session for free if you are undecided. . .contact a local coordinator. Do it; it will change your life. . .
Oh, we did not use his envelopes; we bought coupon holder envelopes (the plastic ones like at Walmart). Cheaper and more durable. I also made my own categories and worksheets on Word.
We aren't perfect or rich, but this has allowed me to stay home and let my husband retire early to start his homebased business.
If you have any more questions, feel free to email me.
