I've just recently started shopping online. It's something that I've never really done before. I always liked the personal touch or at least I thought I did. Anyway, due to where we live compared to the where the stores are, I have started shopping a bit online. And I'm finding that I research my purchases more, looking for the best value and what not. But I'm no longer impulse shopping either. I know it doesn't work for everything but for things like books, kids clothing, or some other things it works great.

Anyone else feel this way?

I LOVE to shop online. I can find so many good deals by shopping online. I bought all of my daughter's Christmas online and didn't pay more than $5 for any of it (Thanks to Amazon). I don't feel like it helps me with impulse buying though. Sometimes I just find deals that are too good to pass up. I would rather shop online than get out in the crowded mall.

I started shopping online when they put the internet on my desktop at work, 13 years ago! I love shopping online vs store. I dislike riding all over the place looking for something. Sometimes I'll convince myself that I should go to the store and buy it for whatever reason. Typically I get frustrated either because they don't have the item or don't have the size/color, whatever. I agree that it keeps you from buying unplanned items. I also have become a bargain slueth. My friend called me the other day to ask me to find the best bargain on an Office 2007 package. I saved her $60. I rarely pay for shipping unless it is a store that almost never offers free shipping that has good quality products (Lands End) OR the deal is good enough to justify the shipping expense. My favorite store these days is Amazon. Amazon typically has specials and deals that are hard to refuse and free shipping over $25.. Welcome to the online shopping experience

My mom is handicap so the only way she can shop in the store is if I take her. Its hard to handle her in a wheelchair and a 7 month old so our shopping trips are only on the really nice days when she can hold DD on her lap while I push or to stores where they have the electric carts. So she does a lot of online shoppng.

My online shopping addiction started with ebay. I LOVE ebay! And now I'm starting to sell a lot more on ebay so when the money for things I sell goes into my paypal acct it adds up. Then when I buy I just use that money. Its a win win! Almost guilt free shopping there! And the stuff I sell on Ebay is things I bougt at consignment/surplus/discount stores that cost me next to nothing but I can sell at almost full amount.

Amazon has become a real addiction too. Especially the reviews. They are so helpful. Pricegrabber.com is also a good site that helps with finding the right price and they help you find free shipping. Its awesome! I don't have to lug around my daughter (or my mom!), I stay nice and warm, and I don't have to put on a bra. Can you get any better?!

I do a lot of shopping online, but not as much as I used to...I actually find that I do more impulse purchases when shopping online, than in person, at a store.

The shopping I usually do online, are places that I'm really familiar with their merchandise and I save myself time and effort, finding the right sizes and colors online.

I'm new to MommySavers (LOVE THIS PLACE), but have been shopping online for a while. So much easier to compare products and prices. I especially like sites where you can read opinions of other people who have bought the products - that has saved me from a few purchasing mistakes. You don't get that in stores. And I really love it when I can get free shipping. But when I can't, I take comfort in knowing I'm saving gas.

You can find great deals on just about anything these days thanks to ebay and amazon but there are drawbacks.

For me it is if you have to pay to ship things back that you aren't happy with... and the credit card bils.
Depending on the deal though... it may be worth it to try it and hope you like it when it comes.

Online shopping had saved me a ton of money on baby gear like highchairs and exersaucers. If I hadn't gotten the interent before I bought those I would have just got the one I liked best at walmart... and been disapointed.
Buying the exersaucer online at walmart saved me more than buying it in store due to the lower interent price and free site to store shipping. I was amazed!

I have been shopping online for many years. I think I get much better prices that way, but you do need to consider the cost of shipping. Shopping online is great for hard to find items. It is great around the holidays. I can get what I need shipped to my house without having to go into a crowded store.

I don't do much online shopping. I just don't seem to have enough time to browse or to compare products and prices. If I know specifically what I want, then online is an option for me.
Have you tried something like Rebates, Cash Back, Discount Coupons, Online Coupons where you earn a percentage of your purchases back? I know there are a couple places like that, but I've only ever tried ebates.
