It is down right ridicilous! I was going thru my Safeway flyer and they had Capri suns for $2.25 a box. I use to be able to get them for $2! Everything is just getting too crazy.

It's the same way where I live. EVERYTHING went up last time I went to the grocery. My food budget is a mere $86 a MONTH for a family of 4 eating people. I can't afford to be paying 5 cents here and 20 cents there!!!!

I said the same thing to my DH. We went to Costco on Friday night, because some of the groceries we buy are much cheaper there than anywhere else. But, cheese went up by $1.79 a pack. The baby's goat milk (from Trader Joe's) also went up by $.20 a quart in five days! I was there on Sunday and it went up $.20 since then. I was planning on scaling back our grocery budget, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to now. I'm going to just have to cook more from scratch, I think.

Typically it was cheaper for DH and I to buy beans, rice, lentils, etc at the grocery store. Now we are shopping in bulk at the local Organic store because the prices were CHEAPER! This is the first time I've ever seen this. Companies are feeling the increase, but unfortunately we are the only ones really paying for it!

Ok , Its hit our area now

I think almost every price was changed in a week.

Even sale prices have gone up - Those Are what I stick to usually.
Yogurt used to be 6 for 3.00 on sale. now the sale price is 5 for 3.00. sale bread was 1.09 now its 1.29 at our local store

I know exactly how all of you feel. When we moved from Kentucky to Florida, the groceries here were about 30 percent higher, now they are even worse. I went back to Kentucky last year though and the prices had pretty much caught up. We rarely eat stead because of the prices. I have probably only bought steak to eat at home 3 times in the last year. With the 4 of us, it seems that a good steak is cheaper to eat out when Sam Seltzers has their $9.99 deals.

I buy the 5lb bags of cheddar cheese at Sam's because it lasts over a month and is much cheaper than the 8oz bags at 2 for $4 when on sale. I had been paying around $10 for the bag and it is now almost $15. Eggs are another big one. I was paying around $1.59 for a carton of 18 eggs, they are now over $3. I started buying them at Sam's and now only get the Egglands Best because they are only 10 cents more than the regular 18 ct eggs. I figure they are better for us and it is only 10 cents.

As far as the 10 for $10, Albertsons last week had a bunch of stuff 10 for $10, I went and stocked up, spent $110 for 104 items because I bought some hot pockets because I had good coupons on them.

I usually spend about $300 around the 15th of the month because that is when dh gets paid, then we usually spend $50 a week on the off weeks. So my budget is around $450-500 for our family of 4.

I know. I hate going to the grocery store. I'm afraid of what the prices are going to be from week to week. I use coupons too, but here lately it doesn't really help!!! Yuck.
