I thought, by the eye catching headline of your post, that you really were robbed! Glad to know that was not the case, but i do agree with you. Everything, not just in the grocery store, is going up in price (except the value of homes... ). It is frustrating, but we'll just have to adjust and make the best of it. Together we can find the tricks and tips to over come this!!

We are feeling it too! Seems that everytime I go tot he store things have gone up in price...although the quality hasn't gone up! And don't get me started on the gas prices! I went towork the other day and it was $3.19, by the time I drove past the same gas stationa few hours later the price had jumped to $3.25!!! In a matter of a few hours!!! just disgusting! tehy are getting ready to put ina Super WM not too far from here, and although my dh is strictly union, and WM doesn't support the union, I will probably try that out, we don't have an Aldis out her on the west coast, but I heard we do have a Winco, but don't know too much about it, but I guess I am about to find out! Otherwise I don't think I will be able to feed my kids!!! I can't wait to move into a house with a backyard so I can plant some kind of a garden!!! I may look into some container garden supplies here soon.

In Jan, I decided to compare last year's grocery bills with this years. I tallied up how much I spent for each month last year. Well, I'm finding now that it's useless to try and compare because the prices have gone up so much. At first, I couldn't figure out how I was spending so much more than last year, when I've clearly cut back. It took 2 months for me to realize it's because the costs have skyrocketed. I decided not to compare with last year now, it's too depressing. I'll just compare how I do month to month, in order to keep myself focused.

Yup reason I use the Grocery game... LOL.. I come out ahead sometimes when I shop using them.. Heck today CVS is going to be paying me to shop with them! LOL..

All things go up in time.. Just think of it 15 years ago when you could get a stamp for .25 cents.. I imagine there are people that remember it being cheaper then that!!!

Do you really save a lot at Aldi's? There's one in our town, but it's out-of-the-way. Is it worth the extra trip?

I do make an extra trip to another store to get BGH-free milk. So far, that's been staying steady at $3.59 per gallon.

I've already got my tomato and pepper seeds started. I can't wait 'til summer so I can grow some free organic food!

I simply can't justify it right now with prices so high. I used to not really pay attention but when I started really looking I was blown away. $7 for 4 sticks of butter? I don't think so....
Eggs are about the only thing I still buy organic. I have also cut out the organic cookies, crackers, etc. But I got gas today for $2.97 a gallon!
