I went to Walmart today to pick up a gift card they were donating to our church, but I ended up having to wait around because the person who issues the cards was at lunch. So anyway, I had an hour to kill so I got out my pen and little note book that I keep in the diaper bag and DS and I wrote down the prices for a lot of the things we usually use. Hopefully this will help with my endeavor to save money. I can't decide if I want to make a little spread sheet in excel or just transfer the info to a bigger notebook I've been using.
Do you use keep a price comparison book?

UGH! It was so hard to walk around and not buy stuff. They had a pretty good clearance section going, but I didn't find anything we truly needed or that I could use for Christmas. So I'm giving myself a pat on the back for being strong!

I started one for the grocery stores but need to go back and put the unit price in. My notebook is too big I need to find a smaller one to fit in my purse. I think it is a great idea. I went to a grocery store I usually don't shop because of the 10 for 10 sale and the product was alot smaller than average. So I don't think I really got a good deal.

I started one to but the the task is just so daunting. We have about 6 grocery stores plus a Walmart and BJs to choose from and it is just overwhelming. And then I find myself not wanting to/having time for more than 2 stores.

I just can't find a good layout for one. I've read about it in the tightwad gazette and it's a great idea. Can you share how you layed your book out?

I keep a price book on only the items I use the most. The things I must have weekly, other than that it is just to big of a task. I have to ask myself how much is my time worth?

I use a small note book.

I don't use a price book, but just wanted to give you a "way-to-go" for not caving in to those clearance items!!!! :yay!: :rah rah:

No wonder I can be such a scatter brain, that's where I store all my info.

My friends always tease me about sales. but they are now asking when certain items go on sale and what's a good price.
