My Dh is learning how to do the shopping our way!

I forgot to get onions and Jelly at the store the other day so I asked him to run to the store and get some for me. I wasn't sure about doing this because he has been known to buy extra stuff not on sale. But he was so proud when he came home. He found Jelly on sale 3 for $5. He saved $1.60 each! He got the onions and the Dr.Pepper I asked for too. The Dr.Pepper was on sale also. And he didn't come home with anything extra!!! He was so excited!

Please share your secret. My dh is so supportive of my planning/shopping system. He often tells me how pleased he is that I'm able to stretch that portion of our budget to cover as much as it does. Yet, when I ask him to pick something up for me, he almost always comes home with an extra or two that he thinks I'll like. I guess he's just trying to get me a little treat, but , grrrrr.

I wish I knew what I did for him to change his normal way of shopping. I just hope he keeps doing it. I wish you the best of luck with your DH.
