This challenge sounds great. Actually I usually do it anyway...so it's easy! I have been enjoying the challenges on this thread!

It would be fun to see what everyone comes up with for the first week....can we post our menus here, or would that just clutter up the thread??? What do you all think?

I do this and it is amazing! We now almost never eat out and I only make one trip to the store a week. I also throw very little spoiled food away.

I was doing this then a few months ago I stopped. Not sure why. I am looking forward to getting back into it. Makes life so much easier. Good challenge!

I don't plan out breakfast for every day (their taste changes from oatmeal, pancakes, toast, cereal or waffles) so I just make sure I have those on hand. I do try and plan out lunch and the afternoon snack.

I have just started doing this a few months ago and it does save me money. Plus it helps bc I am on a diet and I tend not to overeat this way.

I've been doing this for a long time and find that it helps my sanity as well as my checkbook.

One thing I would recomend is to give yourself the freedom to have something other than what you planned - a few times I have just not felt like having what I planned. I keep a few 'quick meals' in mind for those days- things I can just quick put together instead of what I planned. Somehow, for me, having that freedom really helped in the beginning. Now I rarely deviate from the plan, but at least I know I can!

I dont really have to plan a menu. Its only me and Emmy at dinner time, DH gets home about 8:30 -9 PM, so he dose not eat at night.he eats late lunch's
The menus are easy for me, I don't cook big, mostly, fish, chicken, hot dogs,Ham, etc.

I do a modified type of menu. I shop once a month and plan out a month's worth of suppers. I just don't assign them to any particular day. I chose from my list to fit my moods.
