I do this every week. I sit down with the food ads for the week and come up with a plan based on the sales. I keep my menu on the fridge and in the morning I know what meat to thaw, etc. There have been times in the past that I've not done this and it always makes the evenings frustrating, not knowing what to cook! Planning is key!

I mostly just plan dinners. The kids tend to eat the same things for breakfast and lunch so I just have those staples on hand. DH eats the dinner leftovers for lunches at work, so (almost) nothing is wasted.

Menu planning is such a great help for me. I don't miss that feeling I used to get - staring into the fridge at 4:30 wondering what in the world to make for dinner.

I make menus for two weeks at a time (because I get paid every two weeks). I have made a master menu that I work from. It includes two alternative menus for each day - depending on the weather, how much time I have, what's on sale, what we feel like eating... For instance, one day is a choice of taco salad or taco casserole, another is meatloaf or hamburgers.

I'm always looking for new ideas. I can't wait to see what everyone has come up with!

I'm in! I think I can do this. And hopefully it'll save us money in the long run.

I'll try it but I am not promising I will like it. I tried this once before and I couldn't get anyone to help or stick to it.

I'm in! I have done this in the past, but need to start doing it again. Only I'm going to do what someone suggested and have a backup plan in case I don't feel like what I've planned on eating.

My list almost always includes things like: Soup & grilled chesses, Breakfast for dinner, omelet, pasta salad, etc. The list is usually good for up to 2 weeks.

I buy fresh vegetables but I also keep frozen veggies for those days I don't have time to prepare fresh ones.

I also have a list of the main dishes we like, this helps alot when I need ideas.

I'm up for the challenge because I want to update my menus with new recipes. I want to include fish a least once a week & more beans instead of meat. We need to lower our grocery bill but I still want us to eat healthy.

The mods in the kitchen chatter usually have a sticky up top that lists March menus. I'm waiting for it to post as well.
