to make a menu planning out meals for your family and to stick to it. You can do this weekly or plan out the whole month. Whose up for it? I've found that if I have a menu planned out we are less likely to cave and go eat out, and I feel more organized (not left thinking "what's for dinner tonight").

You can go to the sticky thread in Kitchen Chatter and post your menu.

This is a very good challenge, I started menu planning almost 2 mos. ago and I love it! I do the weekly menu and then I post it on the fridge so I can look at it in a glance. My kids get excited when I am planning it they can't wait to see what's for the week and lately I have been catching my DH even looking at it. This has simplified my routine and no longer have to worry about what to get ready 'cause know I have a plan!!

Tip: if you have kids in school don't forget to look at their lunch menu so they don't have the same thing for supper.

I do this very thing. It lessens my temptation to stop at a fast food place on the way home.

This will be an easy challenge I plan my meal already. DH is starting to like it and help out too. He see the list and asks if something can be changes if he has something in mind. He also has helped get some of it ready before I get home from work.

I have tried so many times to make a menu but when it comes down to it. I never follow through.. I am going to TRY.. I really am. I need it for my sanity.

Any helpful suggestions?

Here is how I got started. I sat down and listed out all the main dishes that my family likes, and all the side dishes. So the first step is to come up with a master list of what your family likes to eat. I also sit down with the grocery sale ads and pick meals based off of what meat is on sale that week.

I started menu planning the first of the year. It was a New Years resolution that I'm actually still doing. I print it out and post it on the fridge. I have to say I can’t believe how much easier this has made my life and helped lower our grocery bill. Great challenge.

I did that for a week but I just never stuck to the meal plan... I'm not sure why.. I stay home with my Ds4. Did you also do lunch and breakfast meals?
