What are your prices on a gallon of milk? In Connecticut it is $4.29 a gallon. I can get it at a gas station for $3.79, it used to be $2.59. I'm wondering if this is just Connecticut where everything seems to be more expensive.

It's so weird because people are always complaining about milk prices, but I don't think I've ever paid more than $3 for a gallon of milk. Usually one of my grocery stores is having a sale and I can get it for a reasonable price. Don't know why we're cheaper.

Our local stores haven't had milk sales for months. Whole/Vitamin D milk is $4.19 and all other are $3.99 right now. Those are the store brands, which I know are the same thing, but they only carry their store brands. I did see at the gas station that milk is $4.19 for Roberts and I have coupons, so that will make them cheaper than at the grocery stores.

Hi Zuzu!

Where are you in CT? I'm in the northern part of Fairfield County. Yes, everything is ridiculously expensive here LOL! Only in CT (and maybe CA) can you spend $300,000 on a house, pay $10,000 a year in property taxes and live in less than 1,200 square feet I usually buy organic milk for DD, per our peds recommendation. We pay about $5.30 a gallon for it. Our DS has several allergies, so he can only drink goat's milk, which is, gulp, $14.00 a gallon a Trader Joes. I was tell DH last night that I just don't know how much lower we can get our grocery bill when we're spending about $30 a week for milk.

I'm in CT too, Northen New London County. I buy my milk at Chuckey's (gas station store) I get a gallon of Garelic Farms for 2.99 a gallon. I normally buy 2. When I have a hood coupon, I go to Extra Mart (gas station) and get 2 there. Its normally 3.19 a gallon there, but with my save $1 off 2, I get them for .50 less each. I never ever buy my milk at a grocery store, its WAYYY too much money. Big Y offers Guida milk 2 for $7 and they think thats a deal!

I'm actually in Avon, Hartford County. But I lived in Fairfield for almost 4 years before moving up here. I agree, it is outrageously expensive, but our family and DH's job is here, the schools are good, rec department, town pool, etc. We have family in Atlanta and they are always trying to get us to move down there, to get a good school district it seems you need to pay alot more for a house. Many times I felt like I was the only one in Fairfield trying to budget and get by on less............ We have 4 kids, oldest is 13 is 5 years from college. The birthday parties alone kill me, we have at least one per week!

It's cheaper here as well. I think Kroger has it for $2.49 a gallon this week. I wouldn't call that cheap in our area but I guess compaired to other parts of the country it is!

Here in Dallas, a lot of the grocery stores have it on sale for 3.50 a gallon quite often. Last week, Tom Thumb had it on sale for .99 cents a gallon. Crazy.
