I always buy ahead but the peak time is mid-January through the beginning of February around here. Most clearance is now long gone. I bought a ton this year!

We did! It seemed like everything was on sale during the President's Day weekend. DH and I won't buy any new clothes until 2009. With the exception of-- I might need an evening dress for November for a military event.

Clearance racks, thrift stores and yard sales are about the only way I shop.

Most of our clearance is gone now, but I did great this year.

I buy the next size up for my 6 year old, and I buy whatever I need for my 16 month old in any size between 2T-5.

I keep totes in their closets with the bigger sizes in them. I keep a notebook with everything I have listed in it so I know what I need and what I have too much of. This has worked great for saving money and not overbuying...which I am usually guilty of.

I can usually do better on clearance racks than I can at yard sales or thrift stores. Old Navy rocks
