Most kids are going to be having spring break this month. Do you and your family have any frugal family plans?

I don't know how frugal this is, but we're driving to a KOA to stay a few nights in a cabin. We chose this option because we can bring the dog with us (no kennel fees!) and we'll be gone only a few days so I can set-up the rabbit and guinea pig to be self-caring. Since we have a KOA savers card, we get a discount on the cabin, too.

We're on spring break now. I took out $200 from the bank and showed it to the kids. They were allowed to spend it however they wanted to on doing things together. They could spend it all on one day or spread it out. It was great watching them come up with a plan on how to budget out the money. They've got the whole week planned out which includes, two movies, swimming, skating, two indoor play centre, & 4 meals out plus a bunch of free things (library, sledding etc). When the money runs out, so do our paid activities.

I like the money and budgeting idea! What a great lesson on money and working together!

We don't really have any plans for Spring Break. If the weather is nice we'll go letterboxing one or two days and visit the local park. Sledding and ice skating if the weather is cold.

DD always spends the night with my parents for a night or two.

Maybe a visit to a museum and an indoor bounce playplace.

Mostly all frugal things

What a great idea with the $200 - I am totally doing that when my kids get a bit older (at 3 and 1 they just won't get it!). If I can get a cheap last minute deal on a condo in FL we will drive to the beach. Otherwise we'll just hang out around here - go to the zoo and park if the weather is nice, visit the children's museum and maybe a few lunches out.

All I have to spend is gas money (So who knows how much that is going to be) I am taking the kids to my parents and they are staying there for a week So Mommy gets a Spring Break too! Then the weekend we go back to get them, DH is going to take a day off and we'll leave early Friday AM head back over and spent the weekend there. It will be a nice Spring Break....for all of us

We don't really have any definate plans, my DH has to work that weekend and my DD has band rehearsal that Friday before Easter and that Monday after 'cause then the band leaves on their trip.
I don't even know what my parents are doing since my dad has to have surgery on St. Patty's Day and he will be recovering, we probably will go see them. Otherwise, we will be sticking to home, we will do the Easter basket and egg hunt things and if the weather is nice try to do something outdoors.

We will probably just take the kids swimming at the park if it warms up a bit.
