Interesting thread! Although I wasn't born during the Great Depression, I grew up living in a mobile home on a 40 acre farm. We had no choice but to live frually and simply. Honestly, it was a lot of fun to me. I was taught how to grow my own food, how to fish, (I don't know how to hunt but DH does), and do many other things to live.

Today I'm not sure how some people would be. I know several people personally that would be lost. They wouldn't have a clue what "simple living" means. LOL! Other people I know personally would do just fine.

My kids get fascinated when I share stories with them about what me and my siblings did for fun (and it wasn't playing video games and such).
