I know there have been a lot of posts about "How much do you spend on food," but then there is always confusion on if that includes paper towels, or diapers, etc So I thought we could try to do one organized poll.

*What is the average per month that you spend on consumables (Groceries, paper towels, diapers, etc)?
* How many people are in your family?
*How often do you eat out? (This is helpful to people, because then we can get an idea of how far your grocery budget needs to stretch.)

So do consumables include or exclude food???

We are a family of 4

$150-$250 per month for all consumables
(paper products, groceries, dog food, and any hygenic products)

We eat out once or twice per month, if that.
(Not counting DD's weekly playdate at McDonald's where we usually get apples or a parfait).

I used to say $150-200, but I added $50 to it since we've been buying from the health food store more often and stocking up on sale items at the regular grocery store.

We do $400 a month (family of 4, no pets, none in diapers)

But we don't use many consumables other than toilet paper and kleenex. (Kids are out of diapers, I use fleece feminine products Lunapads: and the diva cup, we use cloth napkins, and the occasional hankie, micro-fiber cloths instead of paper towels, micro-fiber mop instead of a swiffer pad, etc)

We eat out about once a month .. however my parents invite us over about once a week.

$250 including diapers and dog food.
