We currently have the Blockbuster online premium package where we get 3 movies at a time, free exchange in the store and a coupon once a month for a free game or movie rental. It is 17.99 a month. We never have time to watch all of the movies. The thing is, when I went online to change our membership, they have went up on their packages and the one we have is now 34.99 and to change it to the one movie premium option, it would be about what we are paying now for 3. So, I figured we may as well keep it. The other option though is to change to one movie with mail exchange only and that would drop the rate to under $10 bucks a month. I guess I am just afraid if I change it and then want to go back, we will be paying more but I hate paying each month for movies we don't watch. If you've followed me so far, what would you do?

My husband and I were in the same boat last summer after our twins were born. We didn't have time to watch the movies, so we would have them for several days, and take forever to return them. We weren't getting our money's worth. We cancelled a few months ago.

We now use Redbox when we want to rent a movie. Do you have those where you live? It's $1 for 24 hours rental and they constantly send you e-mails with codes for freebies. My husband will usually rent one on Friday or Saturday and return it the next day. He's the big movie watcher, not me. We now spend about $5 a month on movie rentals!

Do you drink Coke? We cancelled Blockbuster Online for the winter and started redeeming all our Coke Rewards points for free Blockbuster rentals, the only thing I don't like about it is they don't have a great selection of TV on DVD instore, but we are planning to pick the subscription back up in the summer when we have more time & money to catch up on TV.

We just canceled ours because 3 movies sat in the same spot for three weeks. We used it a lot during the winter, but since summer hit and baseball season for both kids, we don't have the time. We figured if we were really in the mood we would just go rent one. We may start it up again next winter, but we cross that bridge when we get there!

i would say if you don't have time to watch all the movies in reality you are wasting money wouldn't it just be more cost effective to rent one or two a month and actually get to see them? we just got the redboxes around here also what about your libraries ours near me have a great selection they buy most of the new releases and you can put them on hold on-line and they will call when they are in..so free except to pick them up and we can keep them for 7days.

For us, and we use Netflix though I'm not sure that really matters, we have saved a ton of money because my husband use to buy movies. Those movies 9 times out of 10 were used but he still spent more money and they took up more space than Netflix ever has done -- even on the couple of times that we kept the movies too long and didn't watch them. For us the local video store never worked and we would have too many late fees that it usually was cheap enough to buy the movies. For us Netflix has worked wonders.

I like Netflix. I had went with blockbuster before, but I never got into the store to use the free instore movie. With netflix you can watch certain movies online. It is not a huge selection, but it helps when we don't have anything to watch. 3 at a time is still 16.99 there. Plus tax.

Netflix is sooo much better then Blockbuster. I think 1 movie at a time is $4 and month.

Do you have a redbox close to you? We have them here in McDonalds, Albertsons, Kroger, and Wal-Mart.

They are boxes where you go and for 1.08 you can rent a movie for the night and return it the next day. They have the new releases everything. This might be an option for you. Go to redbox.com for a listing in your area of where the boxes are located. The only downside is you have to rent by a CC.
