art and craft supplies for your kids? I'm starting to refill the box I have with art and craft supplies in it so I'm ready for this summer. Where do you find the best deals on crayons, coloring books, paint, craft projects, etc?

Actually, the best deals I get are always in late July/early August when most stores (Target/Office Max/Walgreens/Rite Aid) have these ridiculously low priced crayons, pencils, etc. for school. I buy so many things for .01 or .10 each or free. I stock up, I still have stuff left over from last year.

I do this also, for the pencils, glues, crayons, etc. For true craft stuff, I like the Dollar Tree for stuff like craft sticks, pipe cleaners, pom poms, googlie eyes.... Also Walmart, but I don't really go there much anymore, the Dollar tree is smaller and easier to get in- get out of, kwim?

Watch for Walgreens too, every once in a while they have "39 cent days" or something to that effect, with a bunch of coupons for 39 cents, sometimes including paper supplies.

Walgreen's .39 sales are great

I also buy during the afterschool clearance but I also use the Michael's and JoAnn's coupons to purchase stuff. They often offer 50% coupons for any items and they both have a $1 bin too.

My mom picked up 3 really fun books for us that uses mostly household products. We used a couple ideas today from them.

The Ultimate Book of Kid Concoctions (by John E. Thomas & Danita Pagel)
The Ultimate Book of Kid Concoctions 2 (by John E. & Danita Thomas)
The Complete Book of Arts & Crafts

Today, we made Magic Muck (cornstarch, water, food color), Invisible Ink (lemon juice on paper), and we blew bubbles in a bowl of soap and water to make prints on paper.
