BP or Shell always. Would like to go to Kroger's but it is really far away.

I usually stick with Wal-Mart, Kroger, Racetrac, and a local mom-and-pop gas station. All 4 of these places usually have the lowest prices on gas.

A tip from my dh who worked in a gas station when he was a teen -- never buy gas right after it rains. You run the risk of getting a lot of water in your gas.

I have to laugh about the 'cheapie' gas comment. The tanker truck is exactly the same!

I live not far off a main route in the area. I've had the privilege of seeing the name brand tanker truck delivering THE SAME GAS to different stations up and down the main drag. Of course, each station has a different name on it - and different prices - but it is all the same gas.

Around here, the closest station is in front of the Albertsons. Their price isn't too much over the cheapie stations and it is convenient to have them nearby. The next best low priced stations are Maverik and Flying J. Maverik is easilier to find and closer so we tend to go there a lot. Costco is too far away and I don't like that they force you to charge the purchase.

As far as the 'don't fill up when it rains' comment, with the newer underground tanks, that's not an issue anymore.

there is two chain gas stations we will not buy from one is the bp people around here are getting bad gas with overf 60% water in it.. fil had to repair one guys gas tank(he had to take it off clean it out and re-line the tank) while another place fixed the lines. not worth the risk.

I am not really brand loyal. I wouldn't know which gas stations to stay away from. I live by Meijers, so I use their gas station most of the time. When I know I am going farther into town, I wait and go to Speedway because of the points. Lately hubby has been filling my van up for me on payday.
