If you buy workbooks/activity books for your kids to work on (either to help with a subject hey are struggling with or to help get a jump start on the next year) where do you find the best deals?
Do you print sheets online? Do you find good deals on the internet?
Is there a certain book series that you have found to be well worth the money?

Dollar Tree has workbooks directed more at the preschool to grade 1.
Today I found a Kumon Dollars and Cents book at Half Price books for $ 2.98. Normally they are around $6.00.

One way I have found is to ask my children's teachers. They often have copies of worksheets left over from class and are excited when a parent asks for them.

I bought my daughter a lot of workbooks from the dollar store and printed them out online. She is tired of doing them and gets bored easily with them.

She enjoys board games so I've been doing educational games.

I have bought a lot from the dollar store and printed stuff out on line. My oldest is in 2nd and so everything I have is for grade 1 & under. For him, we just do his homework and that's all the review/extra that he needs. If I find he or the others, once they're in school, need more, then I will talk to their teachers and see what they can pass along to help or books/workbooks they suggest.

I found some great deals online on workbooks from Scholastic and Reading Rabbit from posts on here. All the workbooks were 1.00 each! So I got some for all 3 of my kids. My DD-8 has always enjoyed workbooks, so this was a great find! I like the idea of asking teachers too!

i normally just buy the ones i like we tried the printing off the internet but my kids like the workbook ones better ds's teacher does send home math practice sheets for him(this is his weekest area) so that helps plus they get a work packet that they have 2 weeks to complete at home that is relavent to what they are studing at school.

I have used the Dollar Tree, also Sam's Club sometimes has the really thick workbooks, which I have bought maybe twice before. Ideally I look for free printable stuff on the internet, especially sites that have customizable pages like edhelper.com.

Mostly though, I just make up my own worksheets, like I'll write up a bunch of math problems quick, or put a bunch of words for him to put into abc order, or fill-in-the-blank stuff, etc. just on a sheet of paper. I find it's sometimes faster to make my own than to bother looking for the right page somewhere else!
