instead of buying it at the store? Have you started to make your own coffee creamers, bread, desserts, etc?

we no longer buy pre-made treats like cookies ect we make them from scratch. my dh loves a certain kind of cookie well we no longer buy them he has learned to eat regular chocolate chip or peanut butter cookies. no more hostes or anything like that even at the bread store they are only .50 or so cheaper than the regular store sale price.

I made chocolate sauce today rather than buying it. Figured at the store it costs $1.99 and I can make it for about $0.30. I've always baked my own snacks, but have recently started making my own condiments.

We made our own biscuits tonight for dinner. I'm going to stop buying cookies. Instead I'm going to research more "healthy" type cookies, bars and muffins and make them from scratch. I have a load of whole wheat flour hanging around and need to use it.

Yogurt. I really like cottage cheese, but it's $4 for 32 oz (and that's at TJ's). So I can make yogurt from nonfat dried milk and a little yogurt starter - 32 oz for $1.

I haven't made them for awhile, but I used to have a recipe for crescent roll dough that was pretty good.

I make these from scratch: salad dressings, spaghetti sauce, cookies.

I have been making my own bread for over a year now. Also cookies, muffins, pancakes, waffles, etc. I buy wheat in bulk ( I have over 500 pounds of it..it does not go bad if unground ) . I bought a nutrimill ( that grinds wheat, corn etc) and it has been great! I can make a loaf of whole wheat bread for around 50 cents. I wish I had done this years ago!

I make most things homemade, it would be a long list. I recently gave up coffee creamer. I use skim milk & a teaspoon of sugar.

cooking wise i do the majority from scratch......although I did just load up on bety crocker cake frosting....it was on sale and they had coupons on em so I got them for like .35 a tub(will be great for summer picnincs-and the eclair cakes)

I also started making my own laundry soap, fabric softener and foaming dish soap.
