Are you working on spending less/saving more so you can be a SAHM, to stay within a budget, or maybe to get out of debt?

I am already a SAHM (have been for 15 yrs.) and we have no debt except the house, but my life of frugality is that of mostly not spending our money friviliously on "stuff." It's also in place so I can continue to be a SAHM. The world already has enough stuff and I don't want to add to it. A simplification effort is definitely involved with my frugal life and that's where it mostly stems. Of course, this way of life has helped me to bank more of my husband's hard earned money as well as designate money to give to others in need.

All in all, my efforts have created a better balance between needs and wants. It has also given me much information to pass on to my children so they can see the value behind savings, spending and sharing.

My goals for spending less/saving more are to continue life as a SAHM, and yet not live paycheck to paycheck. I hope to keep a security net in place so that if something happens and DH can't work for a time, we are still 'ok'. We have very little debt other than the house and we hope to keep it that way.

I agree with pp about talking to our kids about how to save and be frugal while living a comfortable and happy life.

I am already a SAHM. We strive to save as much as we can so it can stay this way. I love at the end of the month when I add up my savings!!!

I want to bring glory to the Lord by handling our finances well. My goals are to build our EF right now, as we have dipped into it and it's lower than either dh or I would like it to be.
