I'm new to this "CVS"ing thing, so I have a couple of questions if someone wouldn't mind answering :O)
1, Can you use manufacturer coupons in combination with the coupons that print on the receipt?
2. For the EB rewards, like, Spend 15 on Garnier products, and get 5 CVS EB, Is it 15 in value, or does the total have to come up to 15.00, even after coupons?
3. If something in the store is advertised as BOGO free, and you have a coupon for that same item that is BOGO free, how does that ring up? ( I guess that's not specifically a CVS question, but I'm curious ).
Thanks in advance

#1. Yes, you can use a manufacturer and a CVS coupon together.
#2. It is $15 BEFORE coupons. So if you buy $15 worth of stuff, but have a bunch of coupons and get ECBs back, you're basically getting the stuff for almost free.
#3. That one's trickier. SOMETIMES if it's BOGO and you have a BOGO coupon, you can get four items and only pay for one. But sometimes that doesn't work. At least that's the way I understand it.
I plan to post some CVS deals later in a thread in the "What's in Store" forum. So come back later to check them out.
Hope that helps!

I keep meaning to post this but don't know where to...
Anyway, if you have an ExtraCare Card, CVS automatically keeps track of your flex spending purchases. If you have a flexible spending account, you can call the 800 number and they will email you a list of all of your qualifying expenses and you can just file the document to get your flex spending dollars back. Also, if you have prescriptions there, you can just ask a pharmacist and they will give you a printout of your prescriptions and you can file that paperwork for your flexible spending account.
It sure beats keeping track of receipts!

No matter how many times it's explained to me, I can't wrap my mind around that BOGO stuff. I think part of my confusion is that different stores -- or even different managers at the same store -- handle it differently.

A flex spending plan is a pre-tax account that can be set up by an employer for an employee to put aside money for medical expenses (or daycare and some other things). You put the money in the account pre-tax and can withdraw the money for qualified expenses. The IRS has a list of qualifying expenses. I think you can put aside as much as $2000.
So, in the case of CVS, anything like Band-Aids, Tums, cough syrup, prescriptions, aspirin or any over-the-counter medicine, medicinal creams and lotions, etc. qualifies. You can also use it for any unreimbursed medical expenses like co-pays.
Our CVS flex spending total was something like $350, so we didn't have to pay income tax on the money. Depending on your tax bracket, it can be a significant savings.
The way CVS does it is every time you use your Extra Care card, it tracks the items that qualify for Flex spending. At the end of the year, call CVS's 800 number and they will send you an itemized print out of everything you bought that qualifies. You can send that into the flex spending administrator instead of keeping individual receipts.

I think if you have flexible spending accounts, it would be to your advantage to not wait the whole year to get your money. If you spend it all in Jan-Mar, you shouldn't wait a year. Submit your receipts. If CVS does that thru out the year, that's good, but if it doesn't, I don't recommend waiting.

I agree that you shouldn't wait, but you can just ask CVS to give you the amounts for whatever date range you're looking for and they will give them to you. So, if you want your spending from Jan-March, they'll send it to you. They even emailed it to me.
