WOW! I had no idea Mountain Dew was popular with adults! I must give you a for quitting. I have been cutting back on my coffee I have found that advil, the first few days really helped! But now I carry a huge bottle of refilled H2O w/ me all day. I get my 64oz. I force myself to chug it. My DD said I look younger. I can see the creases in my forehead go away! If I would have tried this a few years ago I might be a few pounds thinner and look younger!

Good Luck! Giving up caffeine is VERY hard, but well worth it.

I've tried to quit drinking soda in the past but I always relapse, because I don't like water at all. Not just the taste - it seems like I have to run to pee every 5 minutes when I drink water. I hate tea & coffee so that doesn't leave much else except fruit juice which is just as pricey.

Wow. I have pictures of me at 16 drinking diet coke (I'm almost 38). That's a long time addiction. I lost the taste of it while pregnant and switched to diet dr. pepper.

I had a two-a-day habit for awhile, at $1.25 each from the soda machine. NOw I'm trying to cut back. I've mostly switched to tea (free at work, except when we're out), so now I'm at about 2-4 sodas per week, and that's a good week.

I'd really like to get it down to zero. Soda is so bad for you.

Good for you. It will not only save you money but I it is better to not drink it anyway. My dh drinks like three 20 ozs a day (mt dew). He is supposed to be quitting. Again.

It's amazing the stuff we become addicted to. I haven't found the willpower yet to slow down on the Dew, but I have filling a large bottle with home brewed tea to try to drink in between. Congrats on your success. I know it is soooo hard to do.
