I plan my menu around the sale ads and go once a week.

I go to Costco's about once a month for things like dogfood, detergent, poptarts, bulk meat,and whatever else we use a lot of.. Oh, and milk. It's dirt cheap there, so I'll pick up about 8 gal. Yes, we go through 8 gal before it goes bad...

Then once a week I'll plan out our meals and stock with fresh veggies and whatever I don't want to buy 5 gals of at Costco.

I seldom have to go between weekly trips, unless I see an awsome sale on steaks or something...

I also plan meals around what is on sale and go every sunday or monday. Sometimes I will do extra stocking up and then only go every other week. It all depends I guess.

I aim for every 3 weeks, some weeks, if there's a great sale, we do every 2. But I've been getting more and more at Aldi's....basically everything but meat (Food Lion still has the best sale prices here), so 3 weeks has been working out pretty good.

Does Money Matter?

I go probably twice a week. I do a big trip early in the week, Mon or Tue for the weeks groceries, I do a menu plan etc Inevitably, something comes up around Thur or Fri and we change plans or invite people over or decide to grill or whatever, and I have to go out again for a smaller trip.

Once a week. I now try to buy everything i need, including milk and bread, that i'll need for the entire week so i dont have to go back.

Currently we are shopping once a month, Dh was only getting paid once a month so we would shop on payday, Now that he is getting paid twice a month he wants to shop twice I don't because I'll spend more money that way, We don't plan out meals I just know how much we will use in a months time and shopping twice I'd just want to buy twice as much, I'm always worried about running out, which we never do.

I do the same stock full....once it is low...I go stock up again....weekly...due big family...got 4 boys(3 boys and thier dad)....they are heavy eaters...lol

we go on Saturday and do our shopping...if they have sale on around here then I willm ake a trip to town...but mostly it all done on Sat.

I spend about $100.00 once a week for a family of 5. I find that I spend the most of my money when I go on dairy and fresh fruits and veggies. It is amazing how expensive it is to eat healthy foods!
