How much did you spend on groceries and eating out for the 2nd week of April?

We spent $18 on pizza and $54 on groceries.

I'm just about over budget for the month of April. I spent $101 at walmart (had to buy 50lb. dog food, cat food, tp, toiletries, and food). Bread store was about $7.00 on bagels and bread. Bought a 60lb. bag of softener salt at farm store ($7.00). So that's about $115 and I had $125 left in the budget before Friday. We didn't buy anything unnecessarily. Except a bag of twizzlers and a chocolate bar.lol The groceries aren't killing us... its the toiletries and animal food and miscellaneous crap. I'm going to try grocery shopping every 2 wks. instead of every wk. and see if maybe I'd save money by buying food for double batches and what's on sale. I think we'd spend less and save money on gas for sure (walmart and fareway are at least 25 min. away). This would also save on eating out (had McDonald's cause we got home too late to make supper). How often does everyone buy groceries and do you think you save money your way?

I spent more this week then I would have liked(seems to happen on the payday weeks.

Kroger $116.41
Food Lion $ 24.07
New Yorker Deli $21.00
Five Guys $16.19

I have $299. 64 of my $550 budgeted left.

I have a feeling Monday is going to be bad. Oldest son and I have an optometry appointment a early afternoon and he has a class early evening. We'll probably end up grabbing something to eat. Sigh. I really need to do better on the eating out. Not only am I spending more on the food but my waistline has expanded. I weigh what I did right before 9 months pregnant with my oldest and while I don't look awful I don't feel tip top. The sad thing is eating out is something hubby equates with "treating me" and a way to spend time together alone. We need a healthier hobby.

Ack! We've done really bad in the "eating out" dept.... We actually skipped our Tuesday night Rubios visit trying to cut back, but DH wanted to go to Panda Express on Friday night which was way more $$$....

Fast food: 75.00

Groceries: 65.00

We have a couple of Costco runs for the basics this week, but that'll still kill our budget.

I have $250 left in our grocery budget this month. My problem is eating out. We have two ball practices, two ball games and two doctors appointments this week. Plus I clean my grandmother's house and I have a book signing. All between today and Saturday. Any suggestions as to how to eat at home easier? LOL

Also there are 6 of us and I have two little ones at home during the day. Plus, games and practices are right at "dinner time". So eating before we go is really hard to do.

Have sandwiches in the car or put the cock pot on and eat earlier or put the cock pot on and eat later, have a snack before you leave the house like peanut butter and crackers or cheese, carrott stick, celery stick, fruit.

When my boys were in baseball and football we had pinic in the car or we got to the ball dimond early and had a pinic there or we had a snack before we left and had dinner when we got back.

I cut my $50/week for groceries in half because of some un-expected expenses that came up this week. I'm cleaning out my freezer so I spent $23.46. I didn't spend anything on eating out.
