I've been working out and when I wear my shorts I get plumber butt after 10 minutes, even with a belt. I was desperately in need of some new shorts so I went to Walmart today and bought 2 pair with 2 shirts. The total was around 40. I really needed the shorts(ok maybe not the shirts) and I feel so guilty buying them. I still have a lot of weight to loose so I'm going to do this at some point again and again. How can I get past doing this for myself? I don't want to buy a bunch of new clothes everytime but at the same time I want to look and feel presentable.

It's a guilt issue some moms have, myself included. I feel guilty if I spend money on myself when I think I should be spending it on my girls or to pay down debt. For me I buy clothes either on sale or at Goodwill.
Just stop and think how hard you are working to lose weight and you deserve some clothes that fit.

i agree its a guilt thing that some of us have.. i agree you need to reward yourself for the job well done and you need clothes that fit so a splurge now and then on something to wear i don't think is a bad investment its an investment in you!

Having clothes that fit and make you feel good totally changes your view on everything else for the better. You deserve those, and don't they both make you feel beter, and happier? No guilt! The others will benifit from your hapines!!

I've been thinking a lot about this lately too as I'm loosing my baby weight (but still a little above my pre-baby weight) and don't have a lot of clothes that fit me well. I have no problem spending money on stuff for dd, I can totally justify it , but spending on myself is a different story. I definitely feel guilty about it.

I think it's a good idea to have a certain part of your budget be money that you can spend on yourself. Whether it's extra/blow money that you can spend however you like, or a certain amount that you can spend on clothes each month, that will help to take away the guilt. If it's in the budget and your other expenses are paid, then you are "allowed" to spend the $$ on yourself. No guilt.

And I agree with previous people - you totally deserve it!! Way to go!!

I feel guilty when I buy something. I am the first one to say to dh or 2 ds that they need new clothes. You deserve it and you should be comfy.

I have the same problem. I am in desperate need of some new clothes, but i just can not bring myself to buy them.

However, i don't even think twice buying things for the kids and they are not in need of anything.

I think (I also have your problem so I am going to have to take my own advice) that you should be proud of yourself and not worry about a few dollars of clothes that you need. I also feel guilty buying for myself when we have debt but if your clothes are falling off of you, you need to buy yourself something!!

Congrats on the weight loss!!
