The only starter info I can think of right now is not to be afraid of doing something wrong. I think gardening is one of those things that take at least a couple of seasons of "trial and error" before you perfect it. Every region/plant/ etc. is different so there is only so much you can learn ahead of time. The rest is plain experience.

To get more information, go to your local garden center, the people there should have a lot of information and most of the time they don't mind answering questions, especially about gardens....Also seed catalogs have a lot of info in them, to find out about the veges themselves. Good luck!
