i cannot believe gas prices went up 6 cents over nite. it is now 3.46 a gallon for 87 unleaded here! i cant afford to leave my house anymore! then i went to grocery store a buggy full of groceries that would normally cost me $40 cost me $101. its outrageous, i dotn know how many can survive staying home anymore. with a baby on the way i think im goin to need to get a job if prices dont start falling, or my dh incomes starts getting equal with the inflation. sorry had to vent!!!

Ever since I started calculating how much it costs for me to drive anywhere... well, I'm much more willing to sit at home bored. It's ridiculous!

I feel your pain! Gas prices jumped up here as well to the same amount yesterday. Don't panic though! I started to get really stressed out for a while, thinking I would have to go back to work, but it hasn't come to that yet. Just do your best to see what areas in your budget you can work on more to save some extra $$$, keep your eyes on the kitchen forum, they were just talking about having a chat on frugal recipes and stuff, that may help us all with the prices going up. Hope this helps!!!

It isn't the price of the gas going into my tank that worries me. It is how gas prices and the effect of the mandatory bio-fuel law is effecting the price of everything else in society - from transportation to food prices - that has me greatly concerned.

Exactly My feelings too.

I Keep figuring that I Am Only Spending about 15.00 More Dollars for a Fill up ... So I Am Not Concerned for that ,
But The price Of everything else Going Up , Is Scaring Me.

it makes me mad too!! Hopefully it will get better soon.. i was thinking of getting a job too.. but with gas, child care and having to buy office clothes ( for some reason they do not like the jeans, t-shirts, and slipper look )
it works out better for me to stay home.. we would have an extra $50.00 a month.. and i am sure DS would be ill more being in child care.. so that money would just go to that. Ladies.. we need to keep our heads up.. our economy has done this before and we all have pulled through.. thank goodness for all the great ideas that mommysavers and that everyone post. Remember.. You have to have the rain to have the rainbows....

Blessings

Do prices ever go down?

Ok Yes there is fluctuation in the economy as a whole. We do have some unprecedent cercumstances. For example the average housing prices have sky rocketed and have never been so high and durring the rise people have viewed it as a investment and yes maybe now there will be losses. Gas prices are rising causing everything else to rise at the same time jobs are down so people are not spending and the stock market is not performing well. Everything and I mean everything is connected so when it rains it poors.

Personally on gas prices if the rising prices are what it takes to get people to use public transportion and more fuel effeciant vehicals maybe then its a good thing. It has got me to try and stay closer to home but really hasn't detered activities I think that getting out is important and worth the cost so we still visit friends and parks on a regular basis

Truckers that transport most products to market can't use public transportation. Whether we do or not won't make that much difference in emissions or money in our pocket. I personally believe it is better to pinch our pennies and be mindful of our own little footprint, but the cost of energy and the resulting pollutions are more driven by the economic progress of developing nations around the world.
