Have you stopped going or not gone as much because of the gas prices? Tomorrow there was one I wanted to go to until I filled up at $3.45/gallon. It would be different if it was closer or close to other errands I can run, but it's in a subarb out in the boondocks.

I am just getting back into garage sales again. Our weather has been crazy with the spring snow. I will definitely map out my areas and stay in one area for the weekend. Last year we would drive all over the place but not this year! Happy garage saleing!

I always have a map out area, even before gas prices went up so high!

I am not one that likes to drive much anyway!

Around my area, you remember who has the good yard sales, and who usually sells junk.

I also always have mine all mapped out and only go to the ones I know that have good, clean, cheap clothing or items.
I also only go to the ones were they have around the same age kids 'cause then I know the clothing will fit.

I have lucked out. Our town (which is 15,000 people) has begun to have what is called a "Rummage-0-Rama." It is held at our civic center and it is people from all over ~ even surrounding communities~ having one HUGE garage sale.
It is indoors, so no worry about weather, which in ND is very unpredictable until July!
Also, it is in the center of town which is only blocks from where I live. I was going to walk, but I might need a truck to haul all my "treasures" home.
We also have garage sales through the summer, but this would be considered the "mother load."

I basically go the same route every weekend. But, my #1 pet peeve because of the gas prices is inadequate signs. Many neighborhoods here in Florida, you enter by a main entrance and then a couple hundred yards into the neighborhood you have to go either left or right. It irks me that people can't place a second sign indicating which way to go. A lot of roads have a speed limit of 45+ miles an hour. I guess these people expect me to 1. Read the sign(sorry can't read the sign when there is traffic behind me) 2. Know the neighborhood. After getting to know the area, I know where most major roads are but smaller neighborhood roads, no way! 3. Guess which way to go and waste my gas. Wrong, I turn around and find another yard sale.

To me it is worth the gas price, knowing that I am saving much more by buying the majority of the kids' clothes at garage sales. Also, a friend and I go together and we take turns driving each weekend.

Pretty much EVERYTHING I buy comes from garage sales. I am blessed to live in an area that provides some amazing stuff.....I consign so much that it's really like a part time job. So, for me, it's one of the small ways I can circumvent the high price of gas. I do map out and stay on my end of town.
