I don't really know... I wash all of my laundry in cold water, but only because at some point the hot water got disconnected and we just haven't gotten around to trying to fix that yet. If it were available, I would wash towels, bedding, and whites only in hot water.

I wash everything in cold water except when the flu bug hits our house, then things get washed in hot.

I wash in cold so that I don't have to use oil to heat the water. Every once in a while I'll do load in hot water, but I can't remember the last time....

*shrugs* All I know is the stuff I've read. Save engery by not washing in hot water. Use cold, it's just as effective unless you have really soiled clothes. And you should use hot water when washing bedding to kill all the dust mites.

I wash all our clothing in cold water...not to save money, but IMO, it prolongs the life of the clothing. It's just how I've always done laundry. I also don't dry them in the dryer.

I do use warm or hot water for linens...just depends on what they are, what colors etc

I wash mine in cold water. Save energy and the good thing about it is when I wash jeans the colors last longer it doesn't fade which mean I save money buying more pants.

I just started washing in cold this year. The only things I don't are underwear, socks, towels and sheets.

HTH!

I wash in warm water and rinse in Cold for towels and whites.

IF its a dark load I wash in cold and rinse in cold.

For the life of me I don't know why its just what I do. I must have been taught to do this at some point.
