I have just started walking around ( in my handbag ) with a little note book. Everytime I make a purchase , and once I get home I make a note of what I spent it on and deduct that item from the budgeted amount in its category.

I have finally figured out what I spend all our money on - as it seems as if the salary just makes it every month. Now I know its all these "small treat" items for me, and ciggerette money for my dh - that comes out of the house hold bill and not his ciggerette money.

I was pleased to see you included your tithing. Tithing means 10% and of course I don't know if you donated 10% or not, but I think everyone should include a donation to a church or charity, whether it is 10% or 0.5%.
