But if something is still missed, I do not hesitate to go back right then, kids or not, and get refunded for their mistake.
This works great! I give one kid my calculator and the other my shopping list to keep busy during trips. I try to watch also but also know almost exactly what the total should be within a few cents.

I try to watch as they scan the items, but that doesn't always work if the kids are with. I always make sure to check my receipt before I leave the store, that way I can get it corrected right away.

I watch them scan as much as possible and before I leave go over the receipt. I will go to customer service for a refund of even $.01. I figure if the store is going to list something at a certain price, that is what I am going to pay for it.

I know what a pain it is to unload your child and go back into the store for a dollar or two. I usually will call the store from the car. They usually write my name in a book and I tell them I will be back in next week and take care of it on my next trip in. I also keep that weeks circular to have on hand with the receipt, just in case.

Several times recently I have gone back the next week with my receipt to the customer service desk and they have refunded me with no problem. I try to pay attention to the prices as they get rung up, and if something is wrong, I won't let it go... but I have no problem with going back another day.

I've stopped bagging and started watching them scan instead. I point out errors along the way. If an item scans at an incorrect price, that item is free. If I've missed something and don't find it till I get to the car I usually turn right around and head to customer service.

I usually can't check the receipt until I get to the car and no matter where I shop, something is always wrong. Sometimes a few cents, sometimes several dollars. lately, its too much trouble to unload ds and go back in. I pretty well ignore unless its $4-$5 or so.
What about you?? Any suggestions??
When I get home, I check and if I notice something out of place then I immediately call the store and speak with a manager so they make a note of it and when I go back, if the cashier has a problem with it then they ask around and sure enough, the manager remembers me and fixes it. Same goes with fast food if the order is wrong or missing. So many fast food places won't fix something if you return it later if it's missing, if it was wrong they are usually good about replacing it if you have the item with you.
