Does anybody ever notice things that ring up wrong on their grocery receipt?? The stores out here are pretty bad about it--a sale price doesn't ring up, something accidentally scans twice, they miss a coupon, etc. I always made it a point to watch the groceries ring up so that I could say something right then, but with a squirmy 1-year-old who's already been sitting in a cart way too long its just impossible now. I usually can't check the receipt until I get to the car and no matter where I shop, something is always wrong. Sometimes a few cents, sometimes several dollars. lately, its too much trouble to unload ds and go back in. I pretty well ignore unless its $4-$5 or so.
What about you?? Any suggestions??

It got to be such a hassle when I took my kids to the store to make sure everything rang up correctly, that now I go by myself. I check the receipt again before I walk out the door and will usually go back even if it is just $1 difference or so. If I let them have $1 every week, that's $52 a year! lol

I go right back into the store when I noticed things like that. Why should I let them keep any money that should have been taken off. If this happens to you all the time maybe you should talk to the manager about it and make it known that it happens to you a lot.

i watch the scanner even with my kids there they sit usually pretty good i have told them mommy needs to pay attention because things ring up wrong(obviously a one year old can't do that per say) sales clerks stare when i say things like that lol but they are more cautious they don't ring it up twice.. if for some reason i don't see all the items scanned i step to the side when i'm done and go over my receipt before i even leave the store incase i need to hit the customer service line.

I always check or well I TRY to check. I have a one year old also and I know what it is like when they wanna get out of there. If I have a problem I would either go back in or save it for the next trip. They should have an idea of what the sales were.

I write down how much each item is and have it tallied by the time I get to the registers. Calculators are wonderful helpers. So I know if the total they give me is correct or not. I also try to watch as everything is scanned in order to catch it then so they can correct it. But if something is still missed, I do not hesitate to go back right then, kids or not, and get refunded for their mistake.

I always go over my receipt before I leave the store. If the kids are too crazy, I go to the car and look at the receipt. If something is not right, I go right back and get my money back. Kroger will give you the item free if it rings up wrong!
I have also been doing my grocery shopping at night when my husband can watch the kids. I tend to spend less that way!! But, the customer service is usually closed then, so I will have to go back if something is wrong. It is YOUR money, even if it is .50!!!! I would get it back!!

Here in Canada we have a law (it's mandatory for stores in some provinces), that if the item rings in at a higher price than what the sign said then you get either $10 off the item, and if it's less than $10 you get it for free. I of course check carefully to make sure everything has been rung in correctly. It can save me alot of money.

I try to watch the scanner, but still check the receipt. If I have time, I do it in the car after I've loaded the groceries. If there's an error, I just walk back in. Usually though, I check it at home.

Because of past experiences when I've called their customer service booth, I know that all I have to do is take my receipt back in for a refund. I don't make a special trip back there. Just take it in when I shop next. They give me a Full Refund, as in I get the item(s) free.

Wow we really need this in the states!!

I keep an eye on the scanner or I really like to do the scan your own. I find that I normally get cheated on coupons since I use so many at a time.
