I know I'm not the only person out there who feels like you are treading along, barely keeping your head above water when life kicks you in the keister and you have to shell out more money. It's so frustrating. So list here if you had trouble last month so we all realize we are not alone in our frustrations.

Basement flooded and have to put in a sump pump $1250 (got a loan)
Work on the mini van $1100 (had to put on credit card )

My 3 yo DS inherited the same dental issues as my 9 yo ($1300)

DH's car seat back ($200)
~ DH lets our 3 yo DS play in his car, although I've repeatedly told him it wasn't safe or he'll end up breaking something. Guess who was right on that one? I love saying "I told you so". To add insult to injury, DH broke the replacement while installing it (but was too chicken to tell me). I found him outside with a soldering gun. Gee, he could have done that in the first place and saved us $200!!

DH had knee surgery last month and even with insurance, our out of pocket cost is going to be about $2K.

Washer died so we ended up buying a new washer and dryer for about $1K.

Luckily, the tax rebate and our normal refund will cover most of it but it sure would have been nice to bank the money or go on a family vacation!

DH's truck needed repairs - $500!! And it still needs a tune up and something else that will total around $300. But it is so much cheaper than a car pmt!! We put it on cc and will be paying it off this month, which reduces our grocery and fun money for the month!!

Someone backed into DH's truck in a parking lot (no ticket) 3500 of damage, 500 deductible, and this morning we woke up to a broken heater $600, +a couple space heaters for the kid's rooms for the next few days. Sometimes life just has to kick you around, huh!

Girl, I feel your pain. Ds had surgery and the bills came in this month - after insurance paid their part we still owed $2600. Ouch! Also, our blower died and we had to replace it for $300. We live on a wooded acre and a good blower is a must, so that was a need and not a want. Plus the air conditioner broke and it was $200 for the part and $95 for the service call. Expensive month.

I had a $1300 dental procedure that was needed... after I figured out that DH had never signed up for the dental insurance when he got his new job last September...... were able to put it on a medical credit card, unsure how we are going to pay it though....

lets see drove my van to take ds to the dr and the front driver side brakes ceased up so who knows what its gonna cost(luckily only parts) but dh works alot of hours and fil is getting busy at work(auto rapair business) so i'm on the back burner.. fil gave me a beater to drive man i hate that thing but better than no car at all i guess... ds may need glasses another unexpected expense.. my drier is on the fritz but i'm just gonna hang my clothes outside and inside... yeh life is not fun right now but i just hope it does not get worse...

eta- our basement flooded as well had to bleach that it was fun our only saving grace was fil and dh put in a make shift sump pump so i was able to plug it in when i realized it at ankle deep and luckily ours is not a finishable basement.

Thank you for posting this and for the others who are sharing! Sometimes it just feels like we're the only ones going thru it. My stomach was in knots the other night and the panicking started. I actually had to take some medication to calm and steady the nerves.

My son just had surgery and we're already getting bills for deductible, coinsurance, etc.

My husband's car has 230,000 miles on it! We have to make a decision this whether to buy a new motor for it (we've put so much money into this car over the years so almost everything has been replaced!) or buying an econobox that would be better on gas. Either way, that'll be thousands.

We're praying our heater makes it another year! It's got a terrible leak that has rusted thru. Our neighbor, and the man who will replace it someday, said it could go anytime or last 10 years! It's just one of those things - do we fix it now, when summers coming...or take a chance to go thru another year...winter and all? We're shooting for taking a chance simply because we won't have the money to fix it and would have to put it on our credit card.

Like I said, although I don't wish any of these things on anybody, it's nice to see we're not the only ones.
