Dh used to think you only live once so charge it if you have to. Thank goodness he has changed his toon. Twice this week he has ridden the scooter to work. He is going to help me plant some vegetables pretty soon. If I send him to the store he sticks to the list and usually buys whatever is cheapest (there are somethings we have to buy namebrand though).

Is your dh or significant other on board with saving money?

No - DH doesn't charge anything but words like saving, budgeting, planning, etc. are NOT in his vocabulary.

Mine is better than most, but he still doesn't quite get it, imho. I tell him about all the things I'm doing with our money, how much we're saving, long term plans, etc. And yet, just last weekend, he told me he was thinking about buying the kids a Wii. I did not get mad or let my jaw drop. I just listened. He won't go out an actually buy one without talking to me first. So, I'm not going to mention it.

My dh doesn't spend much on the little things- he just likes to get BIG purchases - iphone, laptop, game systems, etc. When I found Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover I went on a big saving kick. DH would NOT read the book, but told me just to tell him what to do. He said he would do it, but did not have my same mindset. He told me as soon as we got debt free he wanted to buy his next car (getting a loan - of course). Since then I FINALLY got him to listen to the book on CD and he's now on board!!! He listens to Dave's podcasts every night more than I do. He's SO excited for me to finally get my van paid off and has even said he wants another beater when his car breaks down. He said that since we're paying cash for his next car he won't want to spend much on it.

Of course then he comes in and tells me if he buys a mac computer now he can get a discount for some reason or another.... Luckily, now he doesn't get mad when I say no, where as he would have in the past!

So, I'd say YES, my DH is on board with saving money... (mostly)!

Oh my hubby is becoming so much like me LOL! Before, he ate fast food all the time, never used coupons, did his "grocery shopping" at a gas station, and would only buy brand names. I converted him to using the free samples I get, using grocery store bags as trash bags, he's helping me set up an Ebay account to sell stuff, bought me tomato plants, helps me recycle, learned what leftovers are, took those extra movie channels off our satellite saving us $60 a month, and my proudest moment was when he entered a thrift store with me!

My hubby quickly jumped on board. He saw the rising prices of things and started working with me on ways to cut expenses.
