Typically I have a nice stockpile going by this time- of course not this year though! I had started cook books for my in law side of the family- that idea was just shot down by MIL who presented us girls with family reciepes for Mother's Day (she said great minds think alike!)! We are doing a quality over quanity Christmas for our girls and I only have 1 stocking stuffer for my youngest- she is getting an American Girl Christmas this year and the oldest I have no idea yet! I better get on the ball- I at least have a few bucks saved up for Christmas though!

I need to save $500 for Christmas. I have started to save that money already. I think I have $10 in an envelope already. I think I am going to wait to get them things until the fall.

Not yet, usually I start in January when things are on clearance but this year I'm taking my time due to remodeling the house and not having the room to store things yet.

I haven't actually started, but I did just finish my budget/list spreadsheet just on Sunday! I hope to start this summer buying things every other week or so. My problem is that if I get started too early, I go way overboard because then I can afford more. DH is trying to get me to wait until we get our Christmas Fund in November before I start. But I would love to use the Christmas Fund to put a nice $1k payment on a bill!

Yes - putting away money each week into our holiday club account and have a couple of small stocking stuffers that I have seen on sale or something. I cannot believe it is almost 1/2 way to Xmas!

kinda-sorta, first I am trying to get DD birthday party stuff and gifts done (it's not til july), and I have a baby shower coming up in september so I am working on a basket of baby goodies for that, I just try to wait for sales and pick up 1 or 2 items a week as money allows, that way I don't go buy it all the day before at full price!
As far as christmas if I happen to run across something I will pick it up (On sale of course) and put it away, this really helps save money, I have a couple things, but not much yet! But this summer as I'm out and about, I'm sure I will find some more bargains!

Hi guys im new to this site. Actually this will be only the 2nd Christmas dh and I live in our own place (we are only 20) and I dont have to many people to buy for but it will be my sons first christmas so I want to make it a big one yet not brake the bank. Im not sure if I should buy stuff for my son this early bc he is 1 month and Im sure will be into very different things by christmas so I had a few ideas. I could try to buy for everyone else and just shop for my son in the weeks before christmas or I could just start saving money and maybe have a huge day the day after thanksgiving. What do you guys think?

yes!

i'm putting my christams planner together this afternoon! i've bought so much in the past year and we decided to seriously cut down on buying for christmas presents so i think what i'll do is go through everything that we already have and give most of it out of that.
i'm making a couple quilts
and i'm not use about anything else. Lol
