Here is our list for the month of April.

In: 4239

Paid out:
Bills 997
Groceries 214
Gasoline 191
Gifts 101
Laundromat 40
Clothing 18
Eat out 80
Misc 150
Total 1791

Remaining 2448 set aside in savings for future expected expenditures.

It wasn't a typical month, but no two months are the same. This month we had a week long trip where family picked up many meals, but I added to my stockpile. Gas and gifts and misc were higher than normal, but one smaller bill was delayed until after the first, so that was lower.

Future expected expenditures are things like taxes and insurance, new tires and computer upgrades and next winter heating. These things can be sizable.

I am wondering how anyone can manage without a envelope type budget that sets aside money for those future bills.
