I've started doing this too. I don't live in a major metropolitan area, and the coupon inserts are much smaller than what other areas get. So of course - its always the coupons *I want* that are mysteriously missing from the smaller version of the insert. Not to mention getting them from a newsstand you aren't guaranteed that they will all even be included like with home delivery - if they run out you are SOL.

Going out to eat for us too.

Our away-from-home-dining has so far been limited to fast food restaurants . We usually stick to the "dollar menus" and can feed our family of 6 for a decent price.

I do know that it's not the healthiest food and it does add up, but sometimes, I just don't feel like cooking.

Mine would be that sometimes, I just HAVE to splurge and get an expensive cut of meat. I don't eat any beef except for when I splurge for it, and sometimes this girl just craves a steak!

Other than that, I would say going out to eat, too.

I do many unfrugal things.

I use Swiffers (duster & floor cleaner). I love my Swiffers!!!!
I don't always hang my clothes. Some days it's much easier to throw in the dryer.
I use cleaners. I like the smell of it and sorry but vinegar does not seem to do the same job.
I use the drying cycle on my dishwasher most of the time.

I could go on and on but this is starting to make me feel

I do unfrugal things too....

I tried to use a mop and bucket when we first moved into our apartment but I couldn't stand the thing. I bought a swiffer wetjet and I love it!

Also, we tried cutting out eating out totally and DH and I found we craved it more than ever, so we now schedule 1 lunch out a week, usually at fast food places but it is lunch and not very expensive.

I just try to make sure that the things that I do frugally outweigh the things that I do unfrugally.

coupons-none of them seem to be on things I buy. I would spend more to use them.

cleaning with vinegar-I tried it and didnt mind but dh complained the house smelled like a salad.

I stopped hanging laundry outside because I didnt have time but since my dryer broke I make the time LOL!

I am still just getting everything under control and I think sometimes I just have to "live" a little. What good is saving every penny that I can if I am not enjoying life? It is keeping everything in balance. I have going out to eat in my planned budget. My budget also includes getting debt free and saving quite a bit along the way. I didn't get into debt overnight -- its unrealistic to expect to get out overnight either.

Bottom line -- I don't want to be miserable either in debt or by being miserly.
