Why yes - I do LOL! Not only the grocery store, either. DH and I each took a little bit of "pocket money" from our income tax return, so I treated myself to some new scrapbooking supplies. During my first trip to Michael's, I came out of the store with stuff for DD instead of for me, so I went there again yesterday when she was in school .

As far as groceries go, she is allowed one "treat" kind of thing if she behaves well in the store. Sometimes I end up buying an extra treat for Mommy, though, too because of the additional stress of shopping with two little ones LOL!

Haha! That's so true for me too. But then I rarely ever grocery shop with both kids. Sometimes my 11-year-old comes but not the 4-year-old. The last time I took them both, she insisted I not only push her around in the stupid, oversized car cart but that her 72 lb brother ride in it with her! That was a cheap, fast trip all right.

I don't spend more when the kids are with me. They know they aren't allowed to just buy a toy or something just because they ask for one or because they have a temper tantrum, that wont work on me. I think one time, and it was last year, we were at Target and we bought them a lot of Geo Trax things because they were on clearance. We had not planned on toy shopping, it just happend and you would have thought the kids never had a new toy before they were just so excited! My dh is a big fan of allowing them to just look at toys when they ask so that he can say no when it goes from just looking to asking for toys.

Thankfully I don't have this problem yet!
My daughter is only 15 months old. She will point to stuff and say ooohh! but that is the end of that.

I don't have a problem with my husband very often either. Sometimes he tries to get too much pop but he is good if I tell him that we can't get something right now. He always asks if it would hurt our budget before he puts stuff in the cart.
I really appreciate that because it shows me that he sees how hard I work at keeping our cost of living down so we can have more fun things.

no..if it is something they NEED then we get it and thats all...if they WANT it then they have to save their money up for it and buy it themselves and it takes awhile and 99 % of the time they change their mind once they have the money saved as it no longer looks as appealing to them.

My DH is the worst. My DS also does a great Job of running the bill up. He is 4 and alsways wants a chip and a diet pop. That is my fault though because we let him get into that habit. My DH is alsways buying prepared foods that I normally would not buy!!!
