I bought all my Calphalon pots and pans on amazon during their Kitchen sales for much cheaper than retail. I have fancy dishes from my grandmother that we have never even used and our regular plates and stuff that we got after we married. I just recently bought a new Oneida service set for 16 on sale at Kohls with a coupon so saved 70% there, so now we have more than 4 spoons LOL for some reason all our spoons vanished.

I like Kitchen Aide gadgets and such. But our pots and pans were cheapies from Target about 15 years ago and they are still going strong. Our plates we got on sale at K-Mart. Our silverware is still the mis matched ones we each had before we were married (23 yrs ago). My portion of those was actually "borrowed" from my college dining hall. They still work well. I am not into really nice stuff like that. I am just into the practical.

I am willing to spend money on good appliances, silverware, and pots and pans. My regular dishes don't really make that much of a difference. We use the walmart dishes and like them. I also will splurge on silicone splatulas.

We got most of our kitchen ware for wedding gifts (almost 9 years ago). We registered for that almost exclusively because we had bedding, towels, etc. I have been replacing the pots and pans, however, because our original set didn't hold up as well as I hoped. I buy them when they are sale and I have an additional % off coupon.

I only buy things at yard sales...( I am trying not to buy new this whole year!) and gotten a big KitchenAide stand mixer, a Bosch blender, and other top name items.Other people are constantly upgrading their items, and people like me get their "old" ones for a fraction of the cost.
