What do you spend more money on or chose to buy the more expensive brand/version because you know it's higher quality and will last longer?

My husband buys only Red Wing boots for work, two pair at a time - spending over 200 dollars, but they last forever, esp. when he rotates wearing them. We also buy the Red Wing socks, at about 2-3 dollars per pair- they wear like iron.

Luggage. Dh travels a lot for work and the less expensive luggage wears out way too fast. I did some research and bought him a TravelPro spinner at Overstock.com. He loves it and it's holding up much better than the others.

Clothing and shoes, but I purchase them on clearance, second hand or garage sales. Name brands go a long way.

I only buy Bounty Select a Size Paper towels, non store brand toilet paper, Shoes, actually when I think about it I spend more wisely now and buy more expensive things but less of them so I am saving money. I would rather have two pairs of good socks than four pairs of cheap socks. This is especially true if the good socks last more than twice as long.

A lot more than I like to admit- brand name clothing (sales are better than goodwill prices sometimes and they last and you can resell them!), shoes (fit and wear better), some food items (heinz ketchup, mac and cheese, etc) and laundry detergent (Tide is the only thing that works well for DH clothes- and I love the smell!).

we do this to dh has worn redwing boots since he was a teenager he has to have steel toe at work and we get a corprate discount also so it pays for us to buy these we have tried buying less expensive ones but end up spending more since we have to replace them more frequently..

shoes for my kids they fit them well and don't wear out as fast. clothes as well i buy name brand on sale and then i consign them when we are done and can usually break pretty even.. appliances and electronics we buy name brand as well.
