This summer my grandma is going to teach me and the girls some things she does and did growing up (not only quality time with grandma but a way to learn some new things!)- crochetting (I don't know the proper spelling!), sewing (something I tried a long time ago), canning and a few other things.

We only take one trip into the "big city" a month and combine all of our errands. We don't go into town for one thing. We bike to and from work at least two times a week. Planted our organic garden.

We have a garden this year, not much, but we are really still just experimenting. Next year we are going to plant the big one, lol.
It not be cheaper but I bet it will be cherished and is more beautiful than store bought.

We have given up vacationing this year.
We already have our garden planted. Tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, cabbage carrots, radishes and cukes so far
We will water the garden with rain barrels
I have stocked up all year on staples and have started making meatless meals at least once a week.
We also go to the library or wait until the movies come to cable. I bundled internet, phone and cable into one service to cut costs. We recently changed cell carriers to get a better price. Cell phone is a must for me, i use it for my job and i have a daughter who doesnt live with me that I want to be able to get a hold of all the time.

We clean our own house and take care of our own yardwork.

For me the biggest thing is a decision to budget and become aware of what I am spending.

Next would be coupon clipping.

Third selling stuff back at consignment!!
