Sometimes I talk about it at work, but no one there is as on board as I am....it's kind of funny, because when I go to my parent's house, I will open the refrigerator and say..."Why is there nothing generic in here?!?"".... They don't get it.
I used to but I don't anymore. Like another poster said, they're not willing to change their habits. I've even had a "friend" tell me that maybe if I went to work full time, we wouldn't have live this way. I told her the truth is that most people that are frugal live very well, including us.

That is exactly what I face. My family thinks that I am wasting my education by staying home. I am very happy and living on less is quite satisfying to me.
I kind of feel them out first. Usually I will mention that I found some great bargains and they will be interested. Actually though, I have a friend who constantly complements my daughter's clothes. I started telling her each time where I got it and if it was a steal. Since I shop a lot of different thrift stores she was shocked when I consistantly paid less than $3 per item. She is now beginning to check out our local Goodwill and on post thrift stores. I can usually tell after the first time I mention a deal whether or not the person I am telling cares or not. Luckily, I have several deal hunters like myself and we all compare and share.
Sadly, not anymore. Most of my family and in-laws are very materialistic (my own father thinks using coupons is a waste of time!) and could care less about saving money and/or living more simply. They'll pay full price for everything and then brag about it. And no, they're not rich; just foolish.
I do have one friend who I share frugal tips with because she is on an even tighter budget that I am.
They don't get it.
