Oh, I would have been up at Customer service complaining atthe top of my voice for everyone to hear about that cashier. I KNOW customer service is stressful (I was in it for the better part of my life) butthere is NO EXCUSE for calling a cust. cheap...especially one that wants to save money, bya store that sells itself on "selling for less" Call Target...not a letter, unless they can't resolve it, they should resolve it ASAP...! I had the Target coupon for the Levi's today and it wouldn't scan, the head cashier told her no I couldn't use it if it didn't scan ,but the cashier punched in the numbers anyway, and it worked! Good thing, b/c it was from THEIR website!

When using my free oxyball coupons at Target, yes they had to fiddle with the register to take off the correct amt but they still did it. I think it depends on if the cashier knows what they are doing. So when Im at Target I scan to see if I can get into a line with a casher that appears like they know what theyre doing.

But for what happened to you and what they called you is totally unacceptable! I hope you got the cashiers name and the managers name and call Target Corp offices and blow some steam!

Thanks for the advice. I did call Target and they e-mailed me a copy of their coupon policy which I am printing out to keep in case I ever have trouble again. I'm also going to call that store and ask to speak to the GM - what I was told is a violation of the company coupon policy as explained to me by corporate. They are sending me some coupons in apology.

Thanks!

Here is what they sent me regarding their coupon policy. . .HTH!! Nothing about whether or not it is "scannable"

Below you will find the coupon policy per your request.

Coupons are a great way to save even more when shopping at Target, and we make it easy to use them at our stores. But because of the variety of coupons available to our guests, we do have some guidelines for how coupons can be redeemed at Target:

-We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued coupons and manufacturer-issued coupons.
-We'll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
-We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item; in that case, we'll adjust the value of the coupon to equal the price of the item.
-We can't accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.

All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier at the time of sale.

Have questions or want more information about using coupons at Target? Check with a Guest Services Team Leader at your local store. You can also give us a call at (800) 440-0680, or visit us on Target.com. Either way, we're here to help!

I'm curious if they have a "policy" on the scannable coupons...I think if it is a Target coupon from the Target website, they should accept it...Period. If you can't scan it, key it, it takes an extra 20 seconds if that!
