There are several great plant sales in our area.. Our Highschool FFA has a spring plant sale.. Many they started over the winter in the greenhouse, some they buy..

Michigan State University has a spring sale as well, if you go on the last day you get things cheap... Why more people don't do this I don't understand.. I want the good stuff. I'm just waiting for it to be cheaper

We also live in an Amish community. The one family has a green house with great flowers and veggie plants.. Get this 7.50 a flat this year

It pays to ask your neighbors and look into garden clubs in your area. I have been known to stop and ask homeowners what that plant is and they will tell you and often ask if you would like a start.
