Do you have occasions where you go through this? What things usually trigger this?

Currently I am going through this- I am searching for reasonable priced American Girl things for my youngest (I have so many issues spending over $100 for a new doll and a book!)- especially a Samantha! Anyways on craigslist there is a person trying to sell there American Girl dolls- and has been since the beggining of the year- it started off at $300 (she has a Samantha in the lot of 3) and now it is $150 OBO- so right now I am trying to decide if I should offer her $125 (which may be a slap in her face) or just hurry up and grab all 3 dolls for $150 (one of which she is getting for her Birthday and the other is one she really does not like!). But- to be perfectly honest I have issues spending $150 on 3 dolls- that would be her entire Christmas budget.

Why don't you offer the person $50 for the Samantha doll? If she's been trying to sell them for so long, she might be open to the idea of selling at least one of them.

Perhaps she would break the set if it doesn't sell. You could email her privately to ask.

You could buy all three for the $150 (or offer $125 which is what I would do) and then try to sell the one doll you don't like for $40 or $50 and make back part of your money to spend. Then if you got both dolls for $100 or less you got a great deal.

Or you could keep the other dolls for the next christmas or birthday. But If its a good price and you have researched that its a good price. Get the doll you want and sell the other two
